Specialist Optometrists

Dipesh Chhatralia BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Dipesh graduated from Cardiff University in 2001 with a first class honours degree and undertook his professional training at the Oxford Eye Hospital, the Institute of Optometry in London and professional community practice. After qualifying as an optometrist he continued to work at the Oxford Eye Hospital involved in many specialist clinics including eye accident and emergency, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, specialist contact lenses, low vision and paediatrics. Dipesh has undertaken further training in glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and ocular therapeutics. He has a special interest in contact lenses and has over 10 years experience fitting contact lenses for keratoconus, post corneal graft and post laser refractive surgery complications. He sees patients from around the country and abroad who have seeked his advice on improving their vision with problems associated with their contact lenses related to medical eye problems like keratoconus and refractive problems like short or long sightedness and presbyopia. He is accredited by Moorfields consultants and is involved in a pioneering glaucoma and ocular hypertension service in Harrow examining patients referred by his fellow professionals. Dipesh is a member of Harrow & Brent Local Optometric committee and is actively involved in improving eyecare in the local community.

Sachin Patel BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Sachin graduated from Aston University in Birmingham in 2001 and undertook his professional training collectively at Hillingdon Eye Hospital, the Institute of Optometry in London and professional independent practice. After qualifying, he has continued to work in professional independent practice where he has developed specialist interests in contact lenses, sports vision and low vision. Sachin has undertaken further certified training in diabetic retinopathy, referral refinement and is currently undertaking training in ocular therapeutics and glaucoma.  Sachin is member of Harrow & Brent Local Optometric committee and is actively involved in improving eyecare in the local community.

Sheena Patel BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Sheena graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge in 2002. She undertook her professional training in community and hospital practice in Bristol and Bath. After qualifying as an optometrist she continued to work in the community practice for a period of time before moving to work for a family run group of independent practices in Trinidad and Tobago. This exposed her to greater involvement in cataract, diabetic and contact lens work On returning to London, Sheena undertook further training in laser vision correction, refractive lens exchange and cataract surgery with a national company. Whilst involved in these specialist clinics she continued enhancing her skills in eye examination for spectacles and contact lenses. She has trained fellow professionals supervising graduate optometrists. Sheena joined Parker and Hammond in 2011 to ontinue to further her development.

Mrs Anita Shah BSc (Hons) MCOptom

Anita graduated from Aston University in Birmingham in 1982 and undertook her professional training at the London Refraction Hospital (now called the Institute of Optometry) and Guy’s Hospital. Anita has been at Parker & Hammond since 2001. She has undertaken further training in contact lenses, ocular disease and refractive management. Anita enjoys working at Parker & Hammond where she feels patients are offered first class clinical care in a relaxed yet professional environment.

Dispensing Opticians

Linda Culloty

Linda began her career in optics back in 1985, working at Dollond & Aitchinson and then qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1988. Joining Parker & Hammond in 1995, Linda became practice manager of the South Harrow practice in 2002. Linda is very proud to manage such a professional practice where the best care for all our patients is paramount. Her hard working team strives to provide a relaxed family environment that in her opinion is unrivalled.

Vanessa Hammond

Vanessa has worked at Parker and Hammond since 1988 where she trained as a Dispensing Optician and qualified in 1992. Daughter-in-Law of the late Susan Hammond, Vanessa has many years of Dispensing experience behind her and is very proud to be part of the original Parker & Hammond family. Vanessa feels that the Practice continues to offer unrivalled quality eyecare to the community, in the warm and caring manner in which the Parker & Hammond family always intended.

Priti Patel

Priti joined Parker & Hammond Opticians in 2001. She has been a dispenser for over 16 years during which time she has successfully managed a number of high profile practices including opticians within Harrods and Selfridges dealing with many celebrities. In 1998, Priti managed a practice that won “The UK Contact Lens Practice of the Year”. Priti was also invited on TV to adjust Tony Blair’s first pair of glasses. Priti is actively involved in ensuring Parker & Hammond Opticians is up to date with latest eyewear fashions and enjoys providing the best care to our patients in a friendly, professional environment.

Dipa Somaiya

Dipa qualified as an Orthoptist in 1985 and worked at Moorfields and St. Thomas’s hospitals specialising in paediatric and adult eyecare involving binocular vision problems such as squints and lazy eyes. Dipa continued her professional development and qualified as a dispensing optician in 1990 and joined Parker & Hammond Opticians in 2001.
