Eye Pressure Measuring
Prior to advancements in technology, eye pressure measuring could be a slightly uncomfortable experience. Ensuring our patients are relaxed and given the most thorough examination possible is important to us, which is why we have invested in the latest, least invasive equipment that holds the highest standards for testing eye pressure issues.
We use the latest technology to ensure nothing is missed.
Traditional tests measure pressure by flattening the surface of the eye, but as this reading is calculated according to an average thickness of the cornea, it can be inaccurate.
At Parker & Hammond, we have a specialist device – the Pachmate – that we use to measure the thickness of the cornea as well, ensuring that our results are precise to the patient and no underlying issues are overlooked.

The Optomap is the only test that captures more than 80% of your retina in one panoramic image. The unique optomap ultra-wide view helps detect early signs of retinal disease more effectively and efficiently than with traditional eye examination alone. The test is fast and pain-free and nothing touches your eye.
